After receiving a PhD at Cornell University in experimental geology, Bart joined American Superconductor to work on making flexible wire from ceramic superconductors. In 2001, he co-founded A123Systems to develop next generation batteries based on nanotechnology. With commercial success of its first set of battery products, A123Systems can now play an important role in the greening of the transportation and electric utility industries.

Cynthia serves on the board of the Advertising Educational Foundation, the advisory committee of The Ad Council and chaired the 2009 American Marketing Association Nonprofit Conference. She holds a BA from Oklahoma State University.

John Saintcross is the Program Manager at the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) responsible for managing the Renewable Portfolio Standard in New York and auctions/sales of allowances under the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and Clean Air Interstate Rule programs. Prior to NYSERDA, he was the Director of Resource Portfolio Management for Green Mountain Power Corporation. Mr. Saintcross holds a BS degree in Nuclear Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo.

He is Vice Chair of the Standards Committee and is in charge of drafting and editing the GUDC’s standards for commercial buildings.

Jared Snyder is the Assistant Commissioner for Air Resources, Climate Change and Energy at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Prior to joining DEC, he was responsible for environmental litigation at the NYS Attorney General's office and US Department of Justice. He is a graduate of Cornell and Harvard Law School.

He has testified before the U.S. Senate and appeared at U.S. Congressional panels regarding energy, climate change and national security.

POET is the world largest producer of ethanol where Dr. Mark Stowers is responsible for science and technology including the development and scale-up of cellulosic ethanol technology. Previously, Dr. Stowers served in executive management positions at MBI International, Monsanto and Eastman Kodak. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology from North Carolina State University. He completed post-doctoral studies at the Boyce Thompson Institute, Cornell University.
Nancy Sutley

Nancy Sutley is the Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. In her role as Chair, she serves as the principal environmental policy adviser to the President. The Council on Environmental Quality coordinates Federal Environmental efforts and works closely with agencies and other White House offices in the development of environmental policies and initiatives. In addition, CEQ reports annually to the President on the state of the environment; oversees federal agency implementation of the environmental impact assessment process; and acts as a referee when agencies disagree over the adequacy of such assessments. Prior to her appointment, Sutley was the Deputy Mayor for Energy and Environment for the city of Los Angeles, California. She represented Los Angeles on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and served on the California State Water Resources Control Board from 2003- 2005. Sutley also worked for California Governor Gray Davis as Energy Advisor, managing state and federal regulations, legislative affairs, finances and press relations. She served as Deputy Secretary for policy and intergovernmental relations in the California EPA from 1999-2003. She advised on water and air pollution policy, and established budget and legislative priorities. During the administration of President William J. Clinton, Sutley worked for the EPA as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Regional Administrator in San Francisco and special assistant to the Administrator in Washington, D.C. Sutley received her Bachelors degree from Cornell University and her Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University.

He is a Biomimicry Institute trained designer, an alum of the Peruvian rainforest and a counselor at law, admitted to practice in New York. Josh graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Biology, the SUNY Buffalo School of Law with a JD, and the New York University School of Law with a Master of Laws.

He was a co-founder of Hands On DC and earned a B.S. from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Before school, Sarah worked at ICF International on climate change adaptation and mitigation projects. Looking forward, she hopes to continue to help companies reduce their impact and become more sustainable.

She leads this work for DAI, a global consulting firm based in Bethesda, Maryland. She is the Strategic Advisor to USAID on Global Development Alliances and the Global Development Commons. She has worked in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Pacific with the United Nations Development Programme. She served as Peace Corps Country Director in Côte d’Ivoire and also as a Peace Corps Volunteer in both Tanzania and Fiji.

He is a former partner in PriceWaterhouse Canada, an executive with SHL Systemhouse and Canadian Artificial Intelligence Corporation, a founder of Neurope Lab (France-based think tank) and a visiting executive with the International Development Research Centre where he co-managed the Acacia Initiative for sub-Saharan Africa. He has served on the Board of Precarn Inc., Canada's leading intelligent systems research consortium, the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems and TeKnoWave Inc., a Canadian Aboriginal training organization. He has working experience in many countries in Europe (East, West), Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. He holds a degree in Mathematics and Computing Science from the University of Calgary and he studied civil engineering at McGill University.
