2017 Net Impact Conference FAQ’s

What should I bring?

The 2017 Net Impact Conference is designed to be a fun, exciting, and comfortable environment; we encourage attendees to dress in business casual attire. Additionally, we recommend bringing your phone to interact with the NI17 app and social media, a phone charger, comfortable shoes, and business cards.

Will food be provided?

Food will be available for purchase in the Expo hall. There will be coffee provided on each floor of the Convention Center throughout the weekend.

Light bites and $3 frozen adult beverages will available at our Welcome Party on Thursday at the World of Coca-Cola opening reception. We will also have an open bar with free wine and champagne at the Closing Reception at the Sweet Auburn Market Saturday night.

For professional pass holders there will be free lunch provided in the Professionals Corner on Friday afternoon included in the price of your ticket.

How do I download the NI17 app?

You should have received an invitation to join the app from crowdcompass.com (check your spam folder). You can also download the app by searching “NI17” in your smart phone app store.

When should I arrive?

For attendees with pre-conference activities including sessions, excursions, and off-site tours, registration opens at 11:00AM ET on Thursday, October 26 at the entrance in building A. General registration opens on Thursday at 3:00PM ET. Please keep in mind the Welcome Party at World of Coca-Cola begins at 7:00PM.

Is it too late to sign up for excursions/off-site tours/networking opportunities?

Depending on availability, you will have the opportunity to sign up for excursions, No-host Civic Dinners, and networking opportunities on site Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28. Contact conference@netimpact.org for more information.

I already purchased an excursion or off-site tour, where do I go?

You should have received an email regarding the logistics of your excursion. If you did not contact us at conference@netimpact.org.

I have a platinum pass. How do ensure I get first access to the keynotes?

Platinum pass holders have first access to the keynote hall. Seats in the first few rows will be taped off until 10 minutes prior to each keynote. You must wear your badge to access these seats. Once the tape has been removed, you may sit anywhere but no seats will be reserved after this time.

Platinum pass holders also have access to an exclusive networking salon with sponsors and speakers taking place on Saturday during the afternoon coffee break.

I bought a student regular pass, can I upgrade to a student platinum pass?

Yes, you can upgrade your pass on site at the registration desk.

Will there be live stream at the conference?

No, this year we will not have live stream.

Will wifi be available at the Convention Center?

Free wifi will be available in all open spaces, but not in the keynote hall, session event rooms, or Expo hall.

How do I get to the Convention Center?

When traveling from the airport you can take a train or car to the Georgia World Congress Center. When driving or using a car sharing service, it is 10 miles on the I-85 N.

You can also take the MARTA train. Take any red or gold train to the Five Points station. At Five Points, look for signs pointing to the westbound platform and get on the first westbound train that arrives (H.E. Holmes or Bankhead). Travel one stop to the GWCC/Dome/Philips Arena MARTA station and exit.

Follow the station’s signs to the Philips Arena exit after getting off the train. Go up the escalator and veer left at street level to enter the courtyard in front of the Georgia Dome. Walk around Philips Arena, turning right in front of the Georgia World Congress Center.

Why are there zombies at the Convention Center?

Walker Stalker Con, a zombie-themed conference, will take place in the adjacent building during NI17.

What should I wear to the Sips Under the Sea costume party?

Halloween costumes are not required, but are highly encouraged!

Who are your sponsors and what is Net Impact’s corporate policy?

We believe that the business sector is a critical part of driving social and environmental change, and thus engage with a variety of big and small companies on our events and programs. Visit our Conference homepage for a full list of NI17 sponsors and to view our detailed corporate policy.

How are we celebrating 25 years of impact at the Conference?

In honor of our quarter century, we’re creating a time capsule for the next 25 years: for #NI42. Stop by one of our Time Capsule Photo Booths by the 3rd Floor Hub to take a photo of yourself answering one of these questions:

What item (literal or abstract) would you put in the time capsule from 2017?

Where will your Path to Purpose take you by 2042? What might you be doing?

What impact do you hope to make in 25 years?

Enter your time capsule submission by hashtagging #NI42 and #NI17 on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or the conference app.
