For more than 20 years, I have led comprehensive, strategic, program, revenue, and external relations growth within social enterprise, nonprofit, and higher education arenas. Before joining Net Impact, I served as CEO at Breakthrough Collaborative; and as part of the executive team at Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin, I led the workforce development and community engagement division, as well as consulted for several social venture start-ups. For many years prior, I served as a university dean overseeing continuing education divisions, leading professional development and corporate training programs.
Committed to social justice causes, I’ve served on and helped lead numerous boards, institutional committees, and regional economic and workforce development task forces, including board president at ZSharp, board development committee chair at CYDL, and advisory board member at JobTrain. I earned my B.A. from UC Berkeley and two masters degrees from Columbia University.
I live in Berkeley with my wife Samantha and our two boys.
- When I need to relax, I: Swim, binge-watch my favorite shows, and listen to music!
- The best advice I ever got was: “Trust your gut. It’s usually right.”
- The best part of my job is: Working with the incredibly talented Net Impact team; and knowing that we’re empowering future generations of purpose-driven leaders.
