Where Are Grads Getting Jobs, Anyway?

Where Are Grads Getting Jobs, Anyway?

Last year, our Up to Us student teams stirred things up on campus, developing creative campaigns to bring attention to our country's fiscal issues. When it comes to economic opportunity, one of the obvious concerns for most students is...getting a job. Something tells us students will be interested in a new infographic from Open Colleges exploring where the high-paying jobs are for college grads. One interesting thing to note: while traditional fields like business and finance still pay big bucks (making them attractive to students with heavy loans to pay off), the two fields with the most number of employed college grads are social service industries (healthcare and education). That makes total sense to us: our own research shows that students care more and more about doing work that makes a net positive impact on the world. What's really exciting? Even when taking those higher-paying jobs, Net Impacters are bringing their values to work with them, changing those industries from the inside.P.S. Up to Us is currently accepting applications for another round of awesome teams. Deadline to apply is Sept. 22, so if you're interested in economic issues, winning $10k, and meeting President Clinton, get on it!
