The "Challenged Expedition 2020"
This event is a purpose driven educational, leisure, recreation, outdoor, sightseeing, excursion, social, intercultural, entertainment, sports, active and healthy living and lifestyles field trip/tour organized for Persons with Special Needs/Disabilities, Reduced Mobility or Physically Challenged on every World Tourism Day, 27th September, free of charge.
These are very critical group who unfortunately, are often taken for granted segment of society and predominantly confined to the periphery of economic, social, cultural, community, societal and developmental structures.
The “Challenged Expedition” is part of our strategies, activities and efforts to win the hearts and minds of the general public, at the grassroots, local and community level, help leverage, generate, activate and/or crystallize international, national, public, civil, corporate, private sector, policy and decision makers, leaders and influencers' conscience, attention and actions.
It's aimed to serve as a catalyst for policies formulation paradigm shift towards authorities, leaders, decision makers or influencers assuming greater political and corporate capacity, mastery, passions and commitments to addressing the tremendous public and private spaces, amenities and facilities particularly, tourists sites, attractions and places of interest accessibility challenges, difficulties and/or barriers Persons with Special Needs/Disabilities, Reduced Mobility or Physically Challenged encounter in their daily lives or activities, and as well as other critical pervasive and emerging social, cultural, economic, societal, community and developmental concerns of these target groups.
Non-Persons with Special Needs/Disabilities, Reduced Mobility or Physically Challenged can and are also highly encouraged to join the field trip as a way of practically demonstrating solidarity and support for Persons with Special Needs/Disabilities, Reduced Mobility or Physically Challenged, who unfortunately, are often taken for granted segment of society and predominantly confined to the periphery of economic, social, cultural, societal, community and developmental structures, and a worthy and good cause but have to pay fully for all expenses!
