On Saturday, September 26, Net Impact Chicago will be touring The Plant, a former meat packing plant that is now a net-zero energy food business incubator. Using a closed resource loop, this repurposed industrial building is a joint effort of private business and a non-profit to provide permanent tenant spaces at low rent to sustainable food businesses in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

We will be on a private tour that starts at noon where we will learn about their operations. Afterwards, there will be a chance to continue the conversation at Pleasant House Bakery with others in the Net Impact community.

If you arrive early to The Plant, you will be able to shop the resident businesses’ products at their weekly Farmer’s Market, which starts at 11:00 am.

Transportation to/from the CTA will be coordinated for those interested after registration.
