Claremont Graduate University Drucker Net Impact participated in My Two Cents Day, the premier component of the Up to Us Competition. Since the university is a small institution with approximately 1,400 students. The 'Up2CGU team spent several weeks planning for our October event. My Two Cents Day activities took place on the university campus and consisted of a day-long program of opportunities to provoke student participation in the campus awareness campaign on the United States National Debt. The event also included a large social media campaign, signing of a pledge, and concluded with a Panel discussion of Professors, political economy experts (Dr. Eunyoung Ha and Dr. Jay Prag) that was attended by students and community members. Lastly, an America-themed reception.
The event reached 8-9% of the school population. The Up to CGU team received donations or were granted discounts from Starbucks, Lowe’s, and Chipotle.
