The Enlightened Economy Summit is a collaboration between the MacEwan University Social Innovation Institute, Net Impact Edmonton, BDC, and Roundhouse. It examines inspiration and action through the lenses of business, community, government and individuals who are shaping, disrupting, and re-imagining the world.
This year’s theme - Crisis as a Catalyst for Change - is focused on how to use this time of turmoil as an opportunity to reset and build a more sustainable future for all.
The Covid-19 pandemic has given us a unique chance to pause and reflect on what our society has been and what it could be. It has exposed imperfections in how our systems meet our collective needs. It has forced innovations that could have lasting positive effects on how we operate. It has shown us that getting back to normal (or even a “new normal”) is not good enough - we need something better. This moment should leveraged as an opportunity to change and improve. Featuring local thought leaders with a global perspective, this summit will offer insights, examples, tangible advice, inspiration, and discussions about how to use this time of crisis to re-imagine and reinvent our society for the better.
