The tour was directed by the local architect and city of Rotterdam planner who work jointly in designing urban farming options throughout the city. The students were able to understand the complexity of urban food growing as well as challenges to the architecture that supports such efforts. With inspiration of economic development, the students also were given insight on how local restaurants are partnering with such efforts to make it financially sustainable.
