About La Fageda;
・La Fageda is a social cooperative founded in 1982 dedicated primarily to the production of yogurts and milk-based deserts. They employ people with physical handicap from the region of La Garrotxa.
・In 2005, its founder and president, Cristóbal Colón was honored with the Social Entrepreneur of the Year (Spain) by the prestigious Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
・Today, Fageda competes in Spain with brands like Danone as well as with private labels owned by Mercadone, Caprabo, Dia and Lidl. In 2010, its annual turnover was € 10.8 million, it sold 3.5 million units of yogurt, and employed 280 workers out of which 160 suffer from mental or physical handicap.
