Berlin is our home and the Spree is the artery, the life blood of our city. As citizens of Berlin and the world, it is our responsibility to be the change we want to see, so we start with what is within our reach.

We intend to engage the Berlin community in a cleaning drive event operating in Treptower Park and on the Spree aside it. Our sponsors will offer Kajaks, Stand Up Paddling Boards, City Rollers and much more to make our cleaning event even more entertaining! The cleanliness drive will be followed by a relaxing and networking event in the early evening at http://hometown.berlin/.

Preparations for World Cleanup Day are well underway in all participating countries - 30 million people in over 150 countries - and it is promising to be a world-changing event. For now, we invite every individual to help us by downloading the app (https://worldcleanupday.org/map-it/) and using it to mark mismanaged trash you find in your neighbourhood. The data will gather on World Waste Platform (http://opendata.letsdoitworld.org/) and will help to understand the magnitude of the problem, but also prepare for the day and help organise trucks to take the trash to be disposed of properly, mobilise people and prepare for any specific situations.

We believe that every individual can make a positive change, and if we all unite for one goal, we can create that change.
