Let’s face it: sending your resume to all those job postings and never hearing an answer is discouraging, even for those of us with the thickest skin. However, the season of the job and internship search has arrived once again! It may feel overwhelming to search for your next gig while juggling your other responsibilities, so here’s what you can do to strategize your job search and develop marketable skills for some last-minute resume boosting.

Making a Path (MAP)

Rock the impact job search with MAP, a peer-based job search forum where students come together for five sessions to tackle each step of the job search process. Our MAP program guides contain all the materials you need to facilitate MAP at your school, and can be tailored to fit the needs of your specific group. Check out the MAP: Self-Guided Workshop Series page here.

Sustainability Toolkits

On a tight schedule but need a solid resume boost before you apply for jobs and internships? Our Sustainability Toolkits allow you to create your own consulting engagement by helping a company get certified as a B Corp or supporting a small- to medium-sized business to reduce its energy costs by conducting an energy assessment. More great news: neither of these opportunities requires prior experience! Read more on our Sustainability Toolkits page.

Impact Programs

If you’d prefer a longer-term project, run an Impact Program! While they require deeper engagement, they offer fantastic opportunities for serious skill-building:

  • Service Corps: gain nonprofit management and consulting experience through engaging in short-term, part-time consulting projects.
  • Board Fellows: participants serve as non-voting members on nonprofit boards for 6 months to a year, which exposes them to the intricacies of nonprofit management and governance.
  • Campus Greening: promotes sustainability initiatives on campus through various projects, which can help a university save money, improve learning conditions, and increase efficiency.
