On March 22, our chapter held the second annual Smeal Corporate Citizenship Conference in the Business Building at our University Park campus. We paired with Career and Corporate connections to put on a conference which had 14 companies become involved. There were 3 levels of involvement, and we had companies at all 3 levels. The keynote for the conference was James Gowen, the Sustainability Director for Verizon. Including Verizon, the event was sponsored by Verizon, KPMG, Vanguard, Symantec, Hershey, Goldman Sachs, EY, PWC, Cigna, Nestle, PLS, Deloitte, GM, and PNC Bank. We had 8 breakout rooms and we held 24 breakout sessions, as well as had companies tabling in the business building atrium. Students were also able to sign our Smeal Honor Code, as well as get their professional headshot taken for their Linkedin profiles. Overall the event was a great success yet we still learned ways in which we can improve next year.
