Our undergraduate chapter teamed up with engineers in Sustainable Impact to investigate the possibility of innovating the campus by proposing an alternate option of using the Styrofoam to-go box: compostable to-go box and compostable utensils. The team of business and engineering students are collaborating to assess the social impact as well as financial viability of this change. Life Cycle Impact Assessment method is utilized to analyze the impacts created during the entire process (cradle to gate) and the final decision is balanced by the triple bottom line. At the end of the day, the team's goal is to propose a robust plan that is environmentally benign, socially acceptable, and financially viable and would satisfy all the stakeholders within the University.
