Join us for the 2016 Hult Prize at SMC! We will have 6 excellent teams competing to go onto the Regional Competition in San Francisco. Our judges for the event will be:

Jay Vijayan
Chief Information Officer of Tesla Motors. Jay and his department are responsible for all of Tesla's Information Systems including applications, infrastructure, network, operations and security. Jay and his team laid the foundation systems architecture and built all the core corporate applications and systems infrastructure for Tesla from the ground-up during the company’s critical growth phase. Jay and his team have built several “best in class systems” including Tesla's e-Commerce, ERP, Service and Logistics systems. Jay specializes in turning around large IT programs and organizations to successfully deliver and run efficiently.

Jacob McCarty
Chief Executive Officer at Kindred Hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jacob is directly accountable for all hospital operations at Kindred, with extensive experience in organizational leadership, project management, and healthcare administration. Prior to Jacob’s current CEO role, he served as the Vice President of Business Development for Innovations Health Systems where he was primarily responsible for managing the research, business development, and strategic planning efforts for a privately funded regional healthcare startup providing voluntary health services to patients via local Accountable Care Organizations.

Ligia Vilela
Chief Technology Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for Wells Fargo’s Digital Channels Technology division, which supports online and mobile applications, servicing millions of Wells Fargo customers worldwide. Thanks to Ligia and her team of developers, the latest technology is implemented in Wells Fargo’s systems to ensure a fast response time and a high availability of market services and products. This has helped make Wells Fargo one of the top rated online banks in the United States.

Shaun Tai
Executive Director of Oakland Digital, an award-winning, non-profit digital marketing agency, which trains community college students specializing in design to create social media marketing campaigns for under-resourced small business owners – especially focusing on small business owners who are women of color. Since 2009, Oakland Digital has directly impacted the lives of over 3,000 Oakland and East Bay students, entrepreneurs, and youth. Oakland Digital programs have boosted the local economy in Oakland by $2.5 million, leading to opportunities for 21st century employment and economic independence within the community. Recently Oakland Digital was awarded a multi-year six figure grant for their application “Bridge for Social Good” from Google.org.
