A little bit about our speaker:

Carlos Leal is Beedie School of Business alumni who graduated with a First Class Honours in MIS and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He also received Certificates in Business Technology Management, Innovative Leadership, and International Experiential Learning after completing two exchange terms in Finland (HSE) and Singapore (NUS). Carlos obtained the Co-op Designation after completing four work terms with BlackBerry and HSBC. At SFU, Carlos received numerous awards for his community service and academic excellence. He was the elected president of the SFU Chapter of Golden Key International Honours Society and the Association of Latin American Students, and was the founder of Simon Fraser Consulting.

Upon graduation, Carlos joined Ernst & Young’s Technology Advisory Practice where he currently works on strategy and implementation projects with clients in different sectors, including government and public sector, financial services, mining, oil & gas, hospitality and technology. On the side, Carlos advises non-profit organizations as an active participant in several boards, including the Association of Enterprise Architect of BC, the Board of Advisors for the SFU Management Information Systems Association; the SFU Business Technology Management Advisory Board; and the SFU Industry Advisory Council for the Business Analytics and Decision Making Certificate. He also volunteers for the Advisory Committees of the Small Business Council at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade where he founded the Practical Education Program, an initiative that connects the business community with students from post-secondary institutions across the lower mainland to address real challenges faced by local companies.
