Are you interested in making a difference on your campus? What about being part of a national movement? Would you like to stage a momentous event? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, My Two Cents Day is a great opportunity for you! On February 12, 2015, college students from across the nation will get loud and get heard – raising awareness about our nation’s long-term debt and its possible effects on our economic future. Here are the top three reasons YOU should participate.

1. Be the Voice of Your Generation

Student teams across the nation will raise awareness about our long-term fiscal challenges and send a message to policymakers that Millennials care about the national debt. My Two Cents Day is all about college students sharing their opinions about how their generation can play an essential role in building a strong fiscal and economic future for the country.

2. Get Connected and Have Fun

By joining in a unified activity, teams across the country are going to make a huge impact. All teams will host an awareness-building event on campus, and each participating campus will have a photo booth and a graffiti wall for students to share their two cents. Teams also will be encouraging people to take a Facebook pledge to let Congress know that they care about the national debt.

3. Gain Leadership Experience

Student teams that participate in My Two Cents Day will receive a toolkit, training from the Up to Us staff (this event is part of the Up to Us competition), and $300 in funding to hold an event on campus.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a movement and make a difference on your campus! If you are interested in learning more or signing up to participate, please email Athalia (athalia@netimpact.org)!
