Net Impact partnered with SynTao to bring speakers to Tsinghua to discuss topics such as Sustainability and CSR. We invited Mr Wayne Silby, Founding Chairman of Calvert Funds to discuss about his experience.

Mr. Silby is founding Chairman of Calvert Funds, a $15 billion investment management group noted for their leadership in the area of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI). Furthermore, Mr. Silby serves as President of Calvert Social Investment Fund, supervising its private equity activities, and as Co-Chair of Calvert Foundation, a $400m investment intermediary that directs capital into needy communities. He is also co-founder and Chairman of SynTao.

Mr Silby supported the creation of Net Impact in San Francisco back in the days and was very happy to see Net Impact at Tsinghua.

Impact Investments are investments made into companies, organizations and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return. Mr. Silby will share with us his vast experience in impact investments and his view on the new trends of impact investments.
