Lunchtime Speaker: From Big Corporation to B Corporation with Raja Moubarak, co-founder 2b Design.

After leading businesses for multinational companies in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Raja Moubarak co-founded with his wife Benedicte de Blavous a social enterprise: Beyt by 2b design. (See recent Boston Globe and BBC News coverage) The company operates out of Beirut, Lebanon and Cambridge, MA, and is a Certified B Corporation. It transforms architectural salvage found in conflict zones into one-of-a-kind high end home decor. 100% of Beyt's workers come from disadvantaged backgrounds or are disabled and over 90% of the contents of Beyt's creations are made out of repurposed materials.

Raja will shed light on the different lessons from working for a big corporation and how they compare with running a social enterprise. A fantastic opportunity to get insights from both sides of the business spectrum! Raja has also expressed interest in hiring marketing interns as they expand the brand, and is looking forward to meeting interested Fletcher students! ​
