The Farm-to-Fork event is designed to be an evening of thought-provoking discussion on food systems during a delicious, locally-sourced dinner. A specific topic in the category of food sustainability should be selected to focus the event on. The event should be held at a local restaurant that embodies the food sustainability topic that the chapter would like to focus on. Suggested topics are sustainable farming practices, local food sourcing, composting, and closed-loop business models. Special guests should be invited that have a background in topics of interest in order to encourage a more informed discussion on the topic. A speaker should also be recruited to give an address on the topic. The restaurant’s menu should be designed to educate and inspire students to eat local.
