The Bi-Annual CISDM Conference will be held next Friday, October 31 at the Isenberg School of Management, Room 108. The conference begins at 10:00AM and will end at 3:00PM. Attached please find the agenda. The theme of this term's conference is Financial Innovations, Sustainable Investments & Social Entrepreneurship. We have four distinguished speakers.

George Martin, a Senior Adviser to Wood Creek Capital, which is owned by MassMutual, will discuss financial innovations in terms of investments by pension funds and endowments in a wide range of new products from farmland to movie and music rights. Gavin Adresen, one of the original developers of BitCoin and current Chief Scientist at BitCoin Foundation, will discuss new developments in the BitCoin network and trends in its use in financial industry.

The other two speakers will discuss social responsible investing and social entrepreneurship. Chris Sikes and Michael Abbate, who are CEO and COO of Common Capital, respectively, will talk about community development, entrepreneurship and government policies in this area. Terry Mollner, founder and chairman of Trusts for All Children, one of the original founders of the Calvert Family of Socially Responsible Mutual Funds and the author of a forthcoming book titled “Common Good Capitalism: As We Mature It is Inevitable," will talk about socially responsible investing.
