Ken Mehlman, KKR’s Global Head of Public Affairs, will speak on a range of topics with Wharton’s Social Impact Club, Private Equity Club, Out4Biz, and the Penn Republicans. Ken Mehlman has a unique and accomplished career at the nexus of business, investing, public policy, and LGBT activism. He will speak to the emergence of the concept of social impact investing and environmental efficiency programs in the private equity industry, along with the national marriage equality campaign and his work in the promotion of LGBT rights in America.

Ken Mehlman is KKR’s Global Head of Public Affairs, helping the firm assess and improve the companies in which it invests by managing geopolitical risk and engaging with key stakeholders. Mr. Mehlman also oversees the firm’s global external affairs, including corporate marketing, regulatory affairs, public policy, and communications. He currently leads KKR's Environmental Social Governance (ESG) programs for the firm and all its portfolio companies.
Outside of KKR, Mr. Mehlman is the Chairman of the Private Equity and Growth Capital Council, the association representing the private equity and growth capital industries, where he actively encourages peer firms to accelerate their ESG objectives. Prior to his current role, Mr. Mehlman served as Campaign Manager of President Bush's 2004 election campaign and Chairman of the Republican National Committee as well as in high level positions in Congress and the White House.
