Taking Action: A conversation with Next-Gen Civic Leaders

Next-generation leaders in civic engagement are blazing a new trail for what it means to be civically engaged in 2020. From inspiring peers to vote and become poll workers to contributing to campaigns in key states, young people are reshaping this election and creating the future of democracy. Evan Malbrough, founder of The Georgia Youth Poll Worker Project, will join us to discuss his initiative which has a bold and innovative goal of recruiting 5,000 young poll workers in the state of Georgia for the presidential election. He'll be joined by Katelyn Sethi, who is working on the ground in Iowa for NextGen America to make sure that young people vote this November. Join us for a conversation with these next-gen leaders to learn more about the ways they are getting involved in this year's election.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 2 - 3pm EST, join Sara Guillermo, Executive Director of Ignite, for a moderated special discussion with Up to Us alumni and members of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights network:

  • Katelyn Sethi, Field Organizer at NextGen America
  • Evan Malbrough, Founder of The Georgia Youth Poll Worker Project
  • Alexa Browning, Young Leaders Campus Ambassador for RFK Foundation for Human Rights, Texas State University, and South Central Regional Organizing Director for March for Our Lives
