Content Manager

Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)

The Content Manager will oversee the production of the GIIN’s industry-leading publications, working with both internal and external stakeholders all around the world to deliver content that shapes the impact investing industry. The ideal candidate will be deadline-driven, have a strong editorial background, excellent communication and project management skills and a passion for creating engaging content that resonates with our target audiences.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, you’ll join a communications and marketing team of storytellers and strategists – all passionate about and committed to building a future where impact is embedded in all investment decisions and impact investing is an option for everyone.

This position requires at least 5 years of experience, ideally in an editorial production environment, superior editorial, proofreading and critical thinking skills, proven communications savvy and at least 5 years of experience; media and/or agency experience preferred

Core responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize the entire publication process of the organization’s various long-form content initiatives, including research reports, white papers, case studies, newsletters and podcasts

• Thoroughly read, edit and proofread content, always with an eye for making the content as digestible and compelling for our audiences as possible

• Coordinate design and graphic production for both the core piece and its distribution in various channels

• Ensure content deliverables are polished, on-brand and on message

• Build and lead relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

• Conduct cross-departmental meetings to ensure production deadlines are met, stakeholders are informed and consulted, and deliverables meet high editorial standards, maintains brand voice, and aligns with strategic objectives

• Manage vendors and consultants as needed

Qualifications

• Superior editing and writing skills

• Knowledge of AP style

• Comfort in fast-paced production environments, managing multiple projects and priorities

• Flexible, organized and detail oriented

• Strong project management skills, with ability to develop and execute against a work plan to deliver high-quality and timely outputs

• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to offer and receive feedback in a productive, professional manner

• Creativity in approaching assignments

• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently while effectively prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines

• Knowledge of impact investing, sustainable finance and/or ESG

• Proficiency with project management software e.g. Asana or Trello

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred

• Personable, engaging presence, with diplomacy, tact, and good humor

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field

• 5+ years of production experience, preferably with a track record demonstrating progressively increasing responsibilities

• Proven capacity to manage multiple ongoing communications projects simultaneously, including projects with a combination of internal and external stakeholders.

 

LOCATION:

This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model. Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States that does not require employment visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION:

The GIIN is committed to pay equity. The salary range for this role is between $67,000-$82,000, with exact salary depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.

We aim to offer competitive salaries and benefits and are committed to equity, trust, and transparency in compensation. Basing compensation on someone’s willingness and ability to negotiate or on their prior salary leads to wide inequities and bias in how people are paid, particularly for groups experiencing historical oppression. Therefore, we do not ask for prior pay history from our candidates and our offer-making process is negotiation-free for salaries and benefits.

We determine the best possible salary offer based on relevant experience and extent to which candidates demonstrate the competencies for the role during the entire hiring process. The GIIN also uses our annual performance evaluation process at the end of each year to determine raises and promotions.
