The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We are seeking a creative and experienced individual to join the NRDC Digital Team on our Data Infrastructure team. Working closely with NRDC’s Communications, Programs, and Fundraising teams, as well as external consultants, you will work on complex data projects, coordinating across departments to build and maintain our Data Infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data and thinks strategically about technical project completion. The position reports to the Data Infrastructure Director in NRDC’s Communications Department. We will prioritize candidates who can work in NRDC’s New York office.
We strive to have a CRM and data infrastructure that is agile, stable, and secure. You will bring a high level of organization and initiative for supporting the Data Infrastructure roadmap. We are looking for a professional who has proven Salesforce and project management proficiency and a desire to help the mission of NRDC.
*Engage in strategic thinking and planning about data processes, vision, and improvements
*Manage system and data integrity by establishing end-user best practices, leveraging administrative tools, and employing appropriate testing
*Understand the business needs and shape the tools to meet those needs, balancing technical best practices with business needs
*Direct the integration of our data platforms to ensure that we are tracking and securing data in the best possible ways
*Execute various deep-dive technical projects sometimes working collaboratively, sometimes autonomously – examples include data hygiene planning, managing a third-party software integration, or designing data workflows across multiple systems
*Ensure all development work such as design implementation, whether managed internally or by a service provider, follows established standards, processes, application guidelines, and technical architecture
*Robust documentation of all data processes and workflows
*Be a technical leader and domain expert with data prep, hygiene, integrations, and other data workflows
*Work closely with the other members of the Data Infrastructure team to arrive at smart, long-term-oriented decisions
*Provide support to the team members, as needed, to ensure the team’s overall success
*5-7 years of database architecture, data engineering, and integration experience
*Strong data engineering skills, including experience implementing complex data workflows
*Familiarity and experience working with agile software development processes
