Job Description

The Communications Director oversees communications strategy and execution with an emphasis on key global impact-related priorities and initiatives. This position is a strategic resource to the teams supporting key impact strategies, including sustainability and supply chain. The ideal candidate has experience establishing and achieving communications objectives that directly support business outcomes and leading multi-channel communications programming from concept to completion. This individual will also provide coaching, mentoring and hands-on communications support to key partners as they execute plans.

Through a highly consultative approach, foster credibility and trust, serving as a go-to resource, collaborating with a wide range of partners for all communications-related manners in the impact space, especially sustainability and supply chain.
Oversees communications strategy development and execution to enable and amplify impact, sustainability and supply chain objectives and corporate leadership position
Build integrated communications strategies that span internal and external audiences to further alignment and adoption, and proactively shape stakeholder perceptions
Deliver against the metrics/KPIs set forward in the communications plans for identified critical initiatives in partnership with members of the broader team.

Partner with global communications team (media, insights/issues, content/campaigns) to reach and influence target audiences. Shape messaging, creative storytelling, channel strategy, content and media + stakeholder engagement plans.
Collaborate with teams and subject matter experts to find opportunities and map the path forward for key cross-functional initiatives.
Partner with the Director, Executive Communications, to align the strategy and messaging of business with that of key senior leaders in impact, sustainability and supply chain.
Develop turnkey tools + resources that foster alignment and coordination of messages across global leadership team, driving leaders’ intent deeper into the Brand.

Activate leader playbooks to support overarching business objectives in support of key impact and supply chain priorities.
Oversee and direct a small, mighty team. Lead and coach team on developing and deploying impact, sustainability and supply chain narratives and supporting communication strategies for priority initiatives.

Exceptional written and verbal skills, including a demonstrated ability to translate complex information into concepts that are more easily understood
Experience with sustainability/ESG and supply chain landscape preferred
Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or related degree
Proven ability to interact with, manage, and influence cross-functional teams & agency partners, and work in a matrixed environment
Experience directing a small team
Deep communications expertise that is global in nature and spans both external and internal subject areas
Proven track record of driving successful, insight-based, creative communications programs that delivered against brand business objectives, on time and within budget
