Sunrise Movement is hiring for a full-time Finance and Operations Manager for Fall 2020 to support our operations work to scale for the 2020 Election and help our movement make a Green New Deal and economic recovery a top priority for the next Congress. The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for maintenance of key financial processes including expense management, payroll processing and compliance, timesheet management, and digital operations.

Core Responsibilities

Organizational Financial Management - 50%
Manage our timesheet system including timely submission of timesheets, and accurate coding
Assist with payroll processing and payroll compliance in collaboration with Sunrise HR
Manage expense management system including timely expense submission and staff reimbursements

Digital Systems and Operations - 10-20%
Manage and be main point of contact for our online store operations
Support in person events (TBD)
Support travel system (TBD)
Assists departments with SaaS purchasing as needed (demos, coordination across departments,onboarding of staff onto system)

Internal Controls and Financial Education - 20%
Assist with strengthening internal controls, including support and education to staff with trainings, guides, and 1-1 support
Support financial onboarding and training of staff as needed

Contracts, Vendors, and Insurance Management 10%
Manage sunrise offices (remote) as needed
Manage select contracts, with insurance vendors ensuring timely payment and compliance
Requirements:
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines and resolving complex issues and competing needs under pressure
Encouraging to team members; able to mentor and lead
Build and implement structures that strengthen/improve our finance systems in a way that is accessible to staff and our base
An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on low-income and communities of color
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to have but not necessary:
Experience creating flexible financial systems to serve diverse volunteer structures+leaders.
Experience with operations for 501(c)3 , 501(c)4 , and PAC non-profit organizations
Proficient in Quickbooks Online, Paylocity/payroll processing platforms, Abacus, T-Sheets, and TripActions.
