Internship, Knowledge Sharing

Opportunity Finance Network

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is a leading national network of CDFIs (community development financial institutions) headquartered in Washington D.C. In pursuit of our mission to align capital with social, economic, and political justice, OFN supports its 270+ member CDFIs with money, strength, and voice to drive transformational change in underserved rural, urban, and Native communities nationwide.
OFN builds the strength of its membership and other CDFIs through financial products and services, events, training, research, policy advocacy, and visibility. CDFIs deliver responsible, affordable finance to markets that mainstream banks do not serve.

OFN’s Knowledge Sharing team develops training curricula, materials and events that increase the capacity of community development financial institutions (CDFIs) to meet the capital and technical assistance needs of low- and moderate-income borrowers in under-served communities throughout the US. The target audience includes CDFIs financing small businesses, commercial real estate, community facilities, affordable homes, and consumer needs. Topics will include one or more of the following core skills: CDFI leadership and governance, financial reporting and management, strategic and business planning, capitalization, financial performance assessment, and impact evaluation. The intern may provide support on issues related to climate solutions and resilience. The intern will assist the team in:
• identifying, collecting, and vetting appropriate training materials, publications, tools, and templates;
• designing a comprehensive, user-friendly online resource library;
• organizing resources to post in the library, and
• other aspects of developing and delivering resources and training and peer learning programs.
