Summary of the Position:
In this new role, the Manager, Employee Experience & Human Resources serves as the primary focal point for the development of an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes learning, employee development, and high performance. The Manager will oversee talent/hiring, employee relations, HR systems, relevant policy development, compensation/benefits, and training/development. The Manager will serve as an advisor to the Culture Working Group which facilitates discussion and action on organizational values and culture, with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the Senior Manager and Assistant, Finance & Admin (related to payroll), Senior Legal Advisor, and the Manager, Experience and Inclusion, Youth Engagement (normative work) among other key stakeholders.

Accountabilities:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the Employee Experience & Human Resources work stream
Recruiting: overseeing the recruiting of all positions at Women Deliver – from interns to senior roles; working closely with hiring managers on the development of job descriptions, leading in outreach, screenings, organizing follow-on interviews and panel interviews, references, and offers; with an emphasis on building and establishing hiring best practices
On-Boarding/Off-Boarding: overseeing the orientation program for new hires, working closely with hiring managers and the Office Administrator to coordinate key trainings, documentation, technology, and space; including managing the off-boarding process
HR Systems: serving as focal for ADP, and assisting in the day-to-day administration – including staff troubleshooting, partnering with finance on payroll, and ensure all record keeping is up to date and compliant; creating new systems that help to track record keeping, staff birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other key dates
Compliance & Policy Development: working closely with the COO and Senior Legal Advisor ensuring the organization is ahead of state and federal policy and compliance changes and best practices; ensuring all employee handbooks and policies are up to date; and recommending new policies and changes as the field and organization evolves; developing processes and metrics that support assessing the impact of HR systems, tools, and programs
Performance Management: leading the implementation of the performance management system (in ADP) which includes the performance management strategy and employee development programs – including goal setting, mid-year conversations, and merit based end of year conversations; working closely with Finance to support on personnel projections and support the merit increase process
Training & Development: leading in the establishing of an in-house employee training system that addresses the organizations needs including management development, new hire orientation, skill based training, and compliance oriented training; assists with selecting and contracting external consultants and experts as needed
Benefits & Compensation: managing benefits administration day-to-day (via ADP), overseeing annual open enrollment, working with COO to facilitate salary bands and annual research, serving on the 403b committee with the COO, Director of Finance, and Senior Legal Advisor; supporting and project managing 403b compliance items (5500, compliance testing, etc.) as needed
Culture Working Group: serving as an advisor and member of the Culture Working Group, which provides a constructive platform for living the values of the organization, including the launch of a diversity and inclusion discussion across the organization
Employee Experience & Relations: serving as a coach for all employees, and assisting in establishing a positive relationship between managers and reports; supporting a high level of employee morale and motivation, conducting periodic surveys to measure employee experience and engagement; ensuring any complaints or concerns are facilitated through the proper approaches
Intern Program: manages the intern program in terms of recruiting, orientation, program design, and liaising with intern manager
Special Projects: project managing new projects based on the work plan including: on-boarding the ADP Applicant Tracking tool, on-boarding the ADP Background Check tool, on-boarding the Concur Locate (travel security) tool, enhancing our current travel safety measures, cap exempt status, visa/immigration policies, and enhancing our welfare, wellness, and health activities

Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:
BA/BS required; Master’s degree preferred
6-8 years of experience; including working within the nonprofit or international development sector
Experience in talent, recruiting, benefits, and HR compliance required
Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives preferred
Experience working or living in the global south preferred
Strong project coordination skills
Ability to coach, mentor, and create an environment that fosters support and learning
Ability to manage complex situations while maintaining confidentiality, with a focus on productive outcomes
Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistently delivering excellent quality work
Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness in solving problems, with sense of humor a plus
Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, if needed
Language skills a plus: French or Spanish
Must be eligible work in the United States without sponsorship
