Job Description:
Facilities Development and Management seeks a Program Manager as part of the University’s Zero Waste department to manage marketing, communications, engagement, and outreach in reaching institutional Zero Waste/Circular Resources goals.

Essential Duties:
Plan, launch, and analyze institutional-wide campaigns to increase awareness of programs and change behavior to increase waste reduction, diversion, recirculation, and reuse
Develop campaigns to increase social media participation on platforms including, but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat
Collaborate with the campus community to shape and deliver internal messages around sustainability
Assist in the design and implementation of educational materials used for public outreach programs
Develop partnerships with University departments with the goal of providing zero waste training and education
Train students, volunteers, and staff members, and provide orientation to new employees
Advise and provide resources for individual students and student groups engaging in sustainability projects
Facilitate the integration of academic work with practical applications in campus sustainability projects
Develop, manage, and coordinate participation in seasonal and special events for the department (e.g. Fall Welcome, Orientation, Earth Day, Campus Sustainability Month, etc.)
Provide support to campus or community groups for zero waste events
Coordinate and/or participate in public relations activities including, but not limited to: preparing and reviewing production of information, drafting press releases, and responding to inquiries as appropriate
Act as liaison between department and larger university communications teams
Supervise, monitor, and coordinate the activities of subordinates
Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with students, staff and faculty
Assist zero waste operations as needed, which may include: loading and unloading trucks and handling a variety of recyclable materials
Ensure adherence to university policies and procedures.
Use ability to communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform the essential functions of the job.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working Environment:
Some work activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand/sit for varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform work. Regular use of standard office equipment and associated computer/technology peripherals. Work activities may also require regular exposure to external environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, wind, insects, flora and fauna indigenous to a desert climate. Extended periods of walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and kneeling. Lifting, pushing, and/or carrying objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds. Drive University vehicles and/or carts.

This position is located at the University Services Building, 1551 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).

Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
