Have you ever said - I can't finish all of this food, I am so full? Ever wonder what happens when you don’t polish off all of the food on your plate? Did you know that large cafeterias and hotels in Massachusetts are required by law to reduce their food waste, as of this past October?

In this evening session learn about food waste, understand recent state regulation, discover where food waste ends up, and find out how people are creating value out of food scraps. You will hear from a stellar panel including:

  • John Fischer – Branch Chief of Commercial Waste Reduction & Waste Planning, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP)
  • Dan Ruben – Executive Director, Boston Green Tourism
  • Robert Gogan – Recycling & Waste Manager, Harvard University
  • Igor Kharitonenkov – Co-founder & Vice President, Bootstrap Compost

The event will include a 45 minute discussion panel and Q&A with plenty of time for networking before and after the panel. Massachusetts is leading the way and now is the time to find out what that means for schools, businesses, and residents!
