RSVP on Orgsync and mark your calendars now! Join Net Impact for a higher level volunteering opportunity as we teach IRC basic curriculum on financial literacy to refugee immigrants of the DFW area. A refugee is a person who is outside their home country because they have been formally declared to have suffered (or feared) persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, or political opinion; because they are a member of a persecuted social category of persons; or because they are fleeing a war. Ideally, interested volunteers commit to teaching in small groups for both dates - 4/3 and 4/10, if they are able. Sessions will last 3 hours and 15 minutes each day. Please expect to spend about 45 minutes preparing to teach/tutor IRC curriculum prior to the volunteering session. Please email clauinger@smu.edu if you are interested in the 9:30 - 12:45 session or the 12:45 - 4:30 session for one or both dates.
