Each year our Net Impact Chapter hosts the Idea Lab, a half-day event that brings together Foster students and business leaders from the Puget Sound to explore and solve sustainability and CSR-related problems currently facing Puget Sound businesses. The event consists of networking and breakfast, a keynote speaker, two breakout sessions consisting of roundtable discussions on various sustainability related topics, and lunch.
We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker this year will be Sarah Severn, former Director of Systems Innovation at Nike, who will be speaking to us about sustainable water management in the supply chain and how to reduce the water footprint in apparel manufacturing.
There will be approximately 40 professionals in attendance from companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, Brooks Sports, REI, Trillium Investments, etc. and nonprofits like Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Virginia Mason. We have 25 spots open for students to participate this year! This is an incredible opportunity to network, dialogue, and engage with professionals in a meaningful way beyond your typical social networking event.
