Lars will talk about launching Denmark’s first social venture fund, the demand for socially responsible investments in Denmark and the ways of measuring social impact.

Lars Jannick Johansen is founder and head of Denmark’s first social venture fund – Den sociale kapitalfond (The Social Capital Fund). He is currently establishing a Nordic Social Finance Network – a platform for research, development and project partnerships among Nordic social finance institutions and experts. Lars is a frequent speaker and advisor to national and local governments, companies and organisations in the Nordic countries on social innovation and entrepreneurship. He has, among others, initiated the first national strategy for social entrepreneurship in Denmark, founded the country’s largest online community and meeting space for welfare-innovators and designed an internationally awarded “Policy design by citizens” model for inclusive policy-making. He is a member of the Danish government’s advisory group on future entrepreneurship policies, and on several advisory boards. Lars was named one of the 10 most talented young Danish executives in 2006 by the leading business weekly Berlingske Nyhedsmagasin, and one of the three most influential Danish executives under the age of 40 in 2009 by Arena Magazine.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond:
Founded in 2011, Den Sociale Kapitalfond invests capital and competencies in promising social entrepreneurs who create social change in Denmark by doing business. They help the social enterprises grow, scale their social impact and improve their financial performance - and reinvest all their financial returns in new social entrepreneurs.
