This was Cornell Sustainable Enterprise Association's first event of the spring semester. Event attendees came out to hear founder of Ithaca Hummus Chris Kirby speak about his business and personal experiences. Chris mentioned how he uses Ithaca’s community and regional ecosystem for support. Chris Kirby gave a PowerPoint presentation touching upon different things like his journey of finding a need in a niche market and having the drive of social responsibility to fulfill the demand. He talked about the importance of being active in one's own community, effective use of social media, personal challenges, and his advice for students, and business goals for the future. Chris talked about how he wanted to apply what he was learning in the classroom, as a Cornell alumnus, in a business setting. After his presentation, students participated in a Q&A session and free hummus tasting.
