Spend Earth Day with the Bay Area Impact Design initiative! The semester is coming to a close and spring is in the air so finish off the year by gaining new Design Thinking skills and a fresh perspective on how to approach some of the world's most challenging issues. This will be the last Bay Area Impact Design (BAID) event for the semester so do not miss the chance to collaborate with MBA students and professionals from all over the Bay Area who share your passion for business, design, and environmental and social impact. Held at the University of San Francisco Downtown Campus, this event will offer:
A Design for Social Impact Workshop
Design thinkers and doers from USF and other chapters will lead us through an exercise that explores the core tenets of design thinking and human-centered design practice. Most importantly, we’ll explore what this means when we’re designing solutions to real social and environmental challenges — where the impact we make really matters.
Team Design Challenge
Put in practice the concepts and tools presented by our Impact Design Mentors and help us commemorate Earth on its day, by designing solutions for presing issues affecting the environment. This is a great opportunity to network and interact with others- knowing that the collective ideas of a team can growth into great results.
A Special Guest
Jess Huang, Product Designer at HandUp.org — a charitable giving platform that provides nonprofits and donors with a new, simple, and direct way to make an impact on poverty. — will join us to talk about working in the fast-moving, constantly-changing world of social impact, and how human-centered design thinking can help us rise to human-centered social challenges.
We’ll also have some treats to snack on, and some drinks to sip on.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
