Net Impact Amsterdam (professional) and Net Impact RSM (MBA) are pleased to invite you to our special event with Tim Mohin, CEO of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and ex-Head of Responsible Sourcing at Apple.

Tim will discuss key takeaways of his book, ‘Changing Business from the Inside Out: A Treehugger’s Guide to Working in Corporates’ and will chair an interactive discussion with the audience about his experiences and insights from more than 35 years of working in sustainability. Tim’s book is a first practical insider’s guide to a career in corporate responsibility gleaned from his career experiences.

He will share day-to-day experiences of what being “the designated driver at the corporate cocktail party” is really like and will openly recount colorful case studies from his own career. He'll openly offer advice on how sustainability professionals can have greater impact and explore ways how employees in other corporate functions can make a difference. He details the programs and processes needed to support a comprehensive corporate social responsibility effort, but perhaps most importantly, he will zero-in on the personal and professional skills needed to navigate corporate politics and get buy-in from sometimes skeptical colleagues.

For more than two decades, Tim has worked to improve working conditions, clean up factories, and battle climate change—all while being employed by some of the biggest companies in the world. With more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500 now publishing “sustainability reports,” a new career path has been forged in corporate responsibility. From strategy to data mining to supply chains and communication, we will open up the “operator’s manual” for a career path in corporate sustainability.

Come with ready for an interactive “ask me anything” dialogue with Tim. Prepare your questions, needs for advice, and personal challenges in advance to make the most of the session! A networking borrel to follow.
