Teri Shanahan is Vice President of Sustainability, a newly established role, at International Paper. Teri has been with International Paper since 1991 and has held positions in sales, marketing, and business management. She managed International Paper’s North American merchant papers business and earlier managed its global pulp business.

Prior to joining the company, she served for eight years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, and was the first woman to qualify as a Surface Warfare Officer on board a combatant ship. She is married and has a daughter, Haley.
