"Business Lessons From My Six Careers" - Dr. H. Allen Ecker, EE 1957, MSEE 1958, served more than three decades with Scientific Atlanta, a leading telecom firm that is now part of Cisco Systems, Inc. He joined the company in 1976 and held a number of executive positions leading up to Executive Vice President. In that role, he worked with the Chairman and CEO to develop the company’s growth strategy in the telecommunications industry and provided leadership in the implementation of that strategy. Dr. Ecker has served as Chairman of the Board for the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (GCATT), and is currently a trustee of Georgia Tech Foundation and a member of the advisory boards of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership."
