Net Impact and Voiz Academy invite you to a workshop to demystify net zero plans, a key aspect of society’s climate response. Net zero plans are famously complex and opaque. Corporations and governments are still learning how to clearly communicate their targets and progress. Unfortunately, jargon and greenwashing abound. Our workshop is meant to cut through the noise so participants can see the “signal”. Answering: will we stay below 1.5 degrees as a result of the plan? Will key stakeholders applaud it? How do corporations even define “success”? This session will look at actual net zero plans and examine them from the point of view of a climate consultant.
Join us on August 22 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST to dive into this important topic. You’ll hear from Diego Espinosa, CEO of Voiz Academy and Wharton-trained former global money manager, BCG strategy consultant, tech entrepreneur, and MBA professor. You will also hear directly from Net Impact and Voiz Academy alumni Aalekhya Vasantavada, GHG and Sustainability Analyst at AET Group Inc., and Parul Vyas, Sustainability Manager at Synechron, talking about their experiences in the Net Zero Analyst cohort about their experiences navigating, analyzing, and improving a variety of net zero plans.
Participants will walk away with:
- An understanding of the spectrum of net zero plans from bad to good and where they need to be to meet our climate goals
- An overview of the key components of a net zero plan, such as carbon calculations, decarbonization initiatives, offset use, and how to improve on each
- The ability to pick up any net zero plan, know how to navigate and evaluate it, and understand how to improve it
Workshop Highlights:
- Comprehensive Overview: Learn key components of net zero plans
- Simulation: See real-world net zero plans being evaluated
- Expert Guidance: Receive practical insights free of jargon
- Collaborative Learning: Learn from the interaction between our panelists and participant Q&A
