The challenges that we are facing at the societal and planetary level are many but they are not insurmountable. The time is now for creating a more just and sustainable world and Millennials and Gen Z are keen on finding sustainable solutions to impact social change. In response to the growing need for and interest in social impact and sustainability, Net Impact is excited to host a FREE half-day long conference for our innovative partners and talented network of emerging social impact leaders. All undergraduate, graduate and professional chapter members are welcome!

In this opening conversation, you will gain an overview of the latest trends in the changing landscape of social impact and sustainability roles and jobs with key insights from Ellen Weinreb and Mohan Sivaloganathan. Whether you're an undergraduate student who is curious about the social impact space or you're a professional in transition, you'll walk away with valuable insights that will help you understand how ESG work is becoming more integrated across organizational strategies and goals.

A Day in the Life: The Work "Flow" of Social Impact Professionals

Come to this session to learn the career journeys and day-to-day roles of three different professionals from the philanthropic, corporate, and nonprofit sectors who are all working on the increasingly important issues of water stewardship and forest conservation. Each of these individuals has led different and non-conventional career paths, whether they've served as a Peace Corps Volunteer or worked with legislators on Capitol Hill. Our speakers will share their career journey stories, how their experiences trained them for their work in sustainability, and the skills that they employ to move forward with their projects.

Communicating the Path to Net Zero

Becoming carbon neutral is a serious commitment that many large and influential corporations have made. But the path to get there is not clear cut and requires the collaboration of stakeholders across almost every sector, including policy. Through this session, E2's Chapter Director will engage sustainability leaders from Shell and AT&T to illuminate their strategic vision and what these individuals are doing within their roles to influence policy in order to achieve their goal of becoming carbon neutral. You will walk away with a better understanding of how large companies are staying accountable to their ambitious commitments, and also what skills and perspectives are needed to continue this exciting and challenging work.

In this session, you will gain perspectives from two women who have had quite different career trajectories and who have also lived through very different generations of social and global challenges. In this intimate fireside chat, Erika and Bianca will share their insights and experiences on continually upskilling themselves to bring value to their field and the kinds of "soft" skills that are increasingly becoming relevant to have influence and impact within your company or organization, especially in the area of sustainability and social responsibility.
